Facebook Beach @ Cannes
june 2019
The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity is the largest gathering in creative marketing. A global event drawing more than 15k people.
For the five-day festival, Facebook Beach at Cannes brought people together through conversations, connections, and community. A series of state-of-the-art experiences designed for purposeful engagement in an open, inviting and inclusive space.
My team was tasked with designing the creative fiber of the event, consulting with the event vendors on the design of the space, as well as activating Curated by Facebook at Cannes and the Facebook Community Hub.
Curated by Facebook Aura Readings
For Cannes, our mission was twofold: 1) Create a compelling experience that creates awareness about Curated throughout the creative community at Cannes, and 2) Capture interviews from some of the greatest creative minds in the industry, and share that content with the world.
To achieve this we set up an Aura-reading studio that served as both a portrait experience and an interview set. Attendees across Cannes lined up to have their portraits taken, which we packaged with a Curated photo slip for social sharing. Video interviews with thought leaders such as Gary Vaynerchuk, Kerstin Emhoff and Noor Tagouri scaled the experience to our social channels.
Facebook Community Hub
We were tasked with designing a community space at Facebook Beach. Facebook Community Hub was created to house a series of speakers, dancers, activitists, interviews and demonstrations. We then created posters for each of those events, which became the background, was used in marketing and created a deeper sense of community celebration.
